Abstract

Purpose: The aim of this study was toevaluate the effect of combined exercise before the competition on the frequency ofbiceps femorismuscle during mavashi-gheri techniqueof girl's karateka. Methods: 11healthy karateka teenagers (Gender: female) volunteered toparticipate in the study. Muscular activity of the biceps femorismuscle was recorded using electromyography system with sampling rate of 2000Hz. Paired sample t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results: The findings of this study showed that the frequency of biceps femoris muscle activity in the upwardmavashi-gheriphase during the post-testwas greater than that the pre-test by 95.60% (p=0.002). The finding in association with the downwardphase showed that the frequency of the biceps femoris (p = 0.001)during post-test was greater than that in the pre-test.
