Abstract

A new polymerizable monomer, 5-methacryloyloxy-1,4:3,6-D-anhydrosorbitol, was synthesized by reacting of methacryloyl chloride and isosorbide by esterification procedure in the presence of Et3N as base. Then, a quaternary alkylammonium modified montmorillonite, Cloisite 20A, was reacted with vinyltrichlorosilane in order to replacement of the edge hydroxyl groups of the clay by vinyl moiety. Since the reaction will liberate HCl, the reaction was performed in the presence of sodium hydrogencarbonate. This prevents the exchange of quaternary alkylammonium cations with H+ ions, and only edge silanol groups of clay react with vinyltrichlorosilane and the product maintained the same basal spacing as the precursor. The radical polymerizations of the product with synthesized monomer lead to chemical grafting of polymer on to montmorillonite surface. Homopolymer formed during polymerization was Soxhelt extracted from grafted Cloisite 20A in order to study of chemical grafting of the polymer onto clay nano-particles surface. The nanocomposites also prepared from the polymerization reaction of various percent of vinyl-silylated clay and monomer. The prepared nanocomposites and chemical grafting of polymer onto Cloisite 20A surface were investigated by FT-IR spectroscopy. Changing of basal spacing of clay has been studied by XRD. The themal and mechanichal properties of the prepared nanocomposites have been studied by TGA, DMTA.

Persian Abstract: يک نوع مونومرجديد متاکريلاتي ايزوسوربايد متاکريلات، از طريق واکنش استري شدن متاکريلويل¬کلرايد و الکل ايزوسوربايد در حضور باز تري اتيل آمين سنتز شد. مونومر حاصل از طريق پليمريزاسيون راديکالي، پليمر¬هاي متاکريلاتي جديدي را تشکيل مي¬دهد که حاوي گروههاي جانبي حجيم (ايزوسوربايد)بوده که حضور اين گروه باعث افزايش پايداري حرارتي ودماي عبور¬شيشه پليمر¬ها مي شود. تهيه مواد هيبريدي که شامل مواد آلي – معدني هستند به خاطر داشتن خصوصيات تلفيقي بي نظير هر دو ترکيب شونده بسيار مورد توجه قرار گرفته¬اند در کار حاضر نيز مطالعات مربوط به تهيه مونومر هاي متاکريلاتي و نانو¬کامپوزيت هاي PMA/MMT بادرصدهاي مختلف به وسيله پليمريزاسيون راديکالي توسط آزو¬بيس¬ايزو¬بوتيرو¬نيتريل به عنوان آغاز گر به روش محلول گزارش شده است. اين ترکيبات: مونومر¬ها، پليمر¬هاي نانو-کامپوزيتي سنتز شده و گرافت شيميايي پليمر بر سطح کلويزيت A20 بررسي شده¬اند. ساختار و خواص ترکيبات حاصل، توسط اسپکتروسکوپي FT-IR ،1HNMR ، آناليز هاي حرارتي (TGA,DMTA) وپراش اشعه ايکس بررسي و اثبات شده اند.
