Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of resiliency education on psychological well-being and quality of life of autistic mothers. The present study was an experimental study with pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population of this study included all mothers with children with autism disorder, who had a disability record at the Department of Welfare of Tehran in 1397. The study sample consisted of 30 mothers with children with autism disorders that were selected from among all mothers (selection criteria: willingness to cooperate and type of autism disability) and randomly divided into two groups of 15 (Control group: 15 and experimental group: 15). The experimental group was participated in training on resiliency intervention based on JaHad Motlagh et al. (1394), which was held in 8 sessions one and a half hours and twice a week. Data were collected based on Quran Quality of Life Questionnaire (2010) and Carole Reef's (1989) Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire. The analysis of the information obtained from the implementation of the tests was done through SPSS software in two sections including descriptive tables (demographic data tables and charts) and inferential (covariance analysis). The results of this study showed that resiliency education had a significant effect on psychological well-being and quality of life of autistic children mothers.
