Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate mental health and cognitive flexibility in mothers of with and without deaf children. The research method was causal – comparative.100 mothers with deaf girl children and hearing peers aged years in exceptional and ordinary schools of Tehran in the academic year (98-99) were randomly selected as the sample. Both groups were matched by mother s age, educational level, and absence of comorbidity disorders like motor dysfunction in children. Was completed to Dennis & Vander Wal cognitive flexibility Questionnaire and Mental Health Questionnaire by mothers of both hearing and deaf groups. The results showed that there was a significant difference between mental health and cognitive flexibility in the two groups of mothers (p < 0/01), the mental health and cognitive flexibility in mothers of deaf children was lower than mothers of hearing children. Some factors such as use of early psychological support and participation in intervention program has an important role on improving mental health and cognitive flexibility in mothers of deaf children.

Persian Abstract: پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی سلامت روان و انعطاف پذیری شناختی مادران دارای فرزند دختر با و بدون ناشنوا انجام گرفت. روش پژوهش از نوع علی - مقایسه ای بوده است. 100 مادر دارای فرزند دختر ناشنوا و شنوای هم سن در مدارس استثنایی و عادی شهر تهران در سال تحصیلی 99-98 نمونه های این بررسی بوده است. هر دو گروه به لحاظ سن و تحصیلات مادر و عدم وجود مشکلات جانبی در فرزند همتا شدند و به پرسشنامه های انعطاف پذیری شناختی دنیس و وندورالCFI) ) و سلامت روان(GHQ) پاسخ دادند.نتایج تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها با استفاده از تحلیل واریانس چند متغیره حاکی از تفاوت معنادار بین سلامت روان و انعطاف پذیری شناختی در دو گروه از مادران می باشد (01/0< p). عواملی مانند حمایت های روان شناختی زودهنگام و مشارکت والدین در برنامه های مداخله ای در سلامت روان و انعطاف پذیری شناختی مادران دارای فرزند ناشنوا موثر است.
