Abstract

Research Aim: At present, there are two schools of thought regarding the impact of forest lands on global warming: holistic and carbon dioxide. The school of carbon dioxide believes that forest ecosystems and the expansion of forest lands through afforestation by absorbing and storing atmospheric carbon have a cooling effect on the global climate. But proponents of the holistic school believe that climate is a complex system and is affected by various biophysical variables such as albedo, land surface temperature, evapotranspiration, water vapor, nitrous oxide, methane, and so on and the spread of forest land in some areas may exacerbate global warming. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of land uses and land cover on global warming in county Ardabil, Namin, and part of Astara using remote sensing. Research method: Ground data, Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2 satellite images, and ENVI, Qgis, ArcMap, Google Earth, SPSS, eCognition, and GRASS-GIS software were used for this research. First, the land use/cover map was extracted by pixel-based and object-oriented methods and Sentinel 2 image. Then, the biophysical factors of albedo, land surface temperature, and evapotranspiration were estimated by the Sebal algorithm and Landsat 8 image. Also, ground data and vegetation indices from Sentinel 2 image and linear regression were used to estimate the amount of air biomass. To evaluate the relationship between atmospheric carbon dioxide obtained from Gosat satellite data and biomass estimated by linear regression and to estimate atmospheric water vapor, SWCVR algorithm and Landsat 8 image were used.

Persian Title:
