Abstract

This study aimed to comparision of moral disengagement, self- enhancement and self protection strateges and outcome expectation in people with substance denpendency and normal individual. The study was causal-comparative design and population included all patients admitted to drug dependence and addiction camps Robat Karim city was in the second half of 1393. In this study, all drug-dependent individuals who visited the camps and drug rehabilitation centers. 30 samples were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. Of the 30 non-addicted subjects matched sample and multi-stage cluster sampling method was chosen as a sample for comparison. Spss software was used to analyze the data. To describe the data descriptive statistics including frequency, mean and standard deviation and to test hypotheses of multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used. The results showed that the lack of moral disengagement (001/0> P, 90/260 = F), defensiveness self-enhancement strategies (001/0> P, 67/68 = F), positivity embracment self-protection strategies (001/0 > P, 75/7 = F), and self affirming reflections self-protection strategies (001/0> P, 34/15 = F) outcome expectation (001/0> P, 71/32 = F) in people with substance denpendency and normal individual is a significant difference. The results of this study showed that people with substance denpendency to a greater extent than the moral disengagement and self-enhancement and self-protection and positive expectations about substance than normal.
