Abstract
The electronegativity, χ, is one of the most widely used concepts in chemistry and was introduced for the first time by Pauling1. Since that time, several attempts have been performed in order to obtain a quantitative measure of atomic electronegativities2,3. In the construction of each scale, a property dependent upon electron distribution, not electron distribution itself, is measured. In this article an attempt has been made to introduce a new electronegativity scale for atoms and molecules based on their electrophilicity values.
