Abstract

A moleculare wire contains a single molecule or a group of molecules which is bridged between two electron reservoirs such as metallic electrodes. It is clear that the most important condition to select a molecule as a moleculare wire, is its ability to conduct holes or electrons in order to carry electrical current through the circuit, and to provide a pathway for the transport of electrons from one electrod to another electrode .therfore, among the complicated inorganic complexes and long organic chains, aromatic rings are labled the best choice.
