Abstract

Synthetic dyes are the major industrial pollutants and water contaminants [1,2]. Textile wastewater introduces intensive color and toxicity to aquatic systems [3] which is mostly non-biodegradable and resistant to destruction by physicochemical treatment methods [4]. A mixture of ferrous (Fe2+) ion and hydrogen peroxide which produces hydroxyl radicals has been used extensively for oxidation of organic matter in water, and to reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) content
