Abstract

A new derived analytical perturbed equation of state (EOS) for hard chain fluids with attractive potential of variable range [1], is extended to homonuclear hard chain fluid mixtures and fluids containing heteronuclear hard chain molecules. The homonuclear and heteronuclear molecules modeled as chains of freely-jointed tangent spheres that interact via a site–site square-well or Yukawa potential. The one-fluid mixing rules are used to approximate the average mixture structure and perturbation parameters. To test the equation of state, we compare the compressibility factor for various homonuclear hard chain fluid mixtures and heteronuclear hard chain fluids such as block, alternating and random with molecular dynamic simulation data and well known equation of states.
