Abstract

Research Aim: Sport facilities have an important role in citizen’s health improvement so they are of the most important necessities in the city. Target of this research is to discuss environmental status of Ardabil city sport facilities. Research method: Research has been done using descriptive and survey study and statistical population contains sport chiefs, sport bureau experts, the municipality staff, the environment bureau staff and citizens around sport facilities. Number of the statistical population is 386 people. The statistical population are chosen randomly by quota sampling method. Measurement tool is made questionnaire that its validity is achieved by management experts and lecturers and its reliability is gained by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Then the data is analyzed using one sample T test. Findings:Results show that Ardabil sport facilities have impact on on making traffic jam and causing traffic offences (p<0.05). However, it can be concluded that in questionees’ point of view Ardabil Sport facilities are not effective in causing noise pollution, pollutions by trash, shading and parking problems. Conclusion: It’s important to consider environmental and traffic issues in order to encourage citizens to participate in sports and it needs more consideration by authoritis and decision makers.
