Abstract
Abstract: The mill moth, Ephestia kuehniella Zeller and Indianmeal moth, Plodia interpunctella (Hubner) are both important pests of stored products in many countries throughout the world. Harobracon hebetor (Say) wasp is used as a biological control agent of moths larvae in peanut warehouses and packaged cereal products. In this study, the effectiveness of H. hebetor in parasitizing mill moth and Indianmeal moth larvae was evaluated at different host densities in an incubator at 25±1 0C, 65±10 RH, and 14: 10 h (L: D) photoperiod. The results indicated that the highest number of emerged adults wasp were observed at treatments: (1) one pair of wasp - 8 larvae of both hosts; (2) two pairs of wasp - 8 larvae of both hosts and (3) four pairs of wasp - 16 larvae of both hosts.The functional response of H. hebetor to different larvae densities of mill moth and Indianmeal moth was type III. The amount of (b) and handling time (Th) of H. hebetor on larvae of mill moth and Indianmeal moth were calculated 0.248 h-1 and 3.418 h, 0.245 h-1 and 3.427 h respectively. The amount of b and the handling time for the parasitoid at different larvae densities of mill moth was higher than of Indianmeal moth. Increasing the number of egg laid by a female H. hebetor in response to increase in larvae densities of mill moth and Indianmeal moth was nonlinear. The number of eggs laid per female wasp increased in response to increased host densities from 1 to 8 larvae and decreased as host larvae densities increased to 16 and 32. The number of emerged adult wasps also increased at host densities of 1 to 16 larvae and decreased at host densities of 32 larvae per female wasp. The percentage of female wasps emerged and the their survival was proportionaly increased with increased larvae densities of mill moth and Indianmeal moth larvae from 1 to 32 larvae per female wasp.

Persian Abstract: | بيد آرد، Ephestia kuehniella ، و شب¬پره هندي، Plodia interpunctella ، از آفات مهم فرآورده¬هاي انباري در كشورهاي مختلف مي¬باشند. از زنبور Habrobracon hebetor به عنوان عامل كنترل بيولوژيك لاروهاي شب¬پره¬هاي آفت در انبارهاي بادام زميني و فرآورده¬هاي بسته بندي شده¬ي غلات استفاده مي¬شود. در اين تحقيق كارايي زنبور H. hebetor در پارازيته كردن لاروهاي بيد آرد و شب¬پره هندي در تراكم¬هاي مختلف آنها در داخل اطاقک رشدي در دماي 1±25، رطوبت نسبي 5±65 درصد و دوره¬ي نوري 14 ساعت روشنايي و10 ساعت تاريكي مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. نتايج بدست آمده نشان داد كه بيشترين تعداد حشرات کامل ظاهر شده زنبور در تيمارهاي: (1) يك جفت زنبور - 8 عدد لارو هر دو ميزبان؛ (2) دو جفت زنبور-¬ 8 عدد لارو هر دو ميزبان و (3) چهار جفت زنبور -¬ 16 عدد لارو هر دو ميزبان مشاهده گرديد. همچنين واكنش تابعي زنبور H. hebetor نسبت¬ به تراكم¬هاي مختلف لاروهاي بيد آرد و¬ شب¬پره¬¬ هندي از نوع III بود. مقدار b و زمان دستيابي (Th) زنبور H. hebetor روي لاروهاي بيد آرد و شب¬پره هندي به ترتيب h-1 0327/0 و h 0611/1، h-100296/0 و h 0450/1 محاسبه شد. مقدار b زنبور در تراكم¬هاي مختلف لاروهاي بيد آرد بيشتر از لارو شب¬پره هندي بود، ولي از لحاظ مقدار زمان دستيابي زنبور H. hebetor روي لاروهاي بيد آرد و لاروهاي شب¬پره هندي اختلافي مشاهده نشد. افزايش تعداد تخم¬هاي گذاشته شده به ازاي يك ماده¬ي زنبور H. hebetor نسبت به افزايش تراكم لاروهاي بيد آرد و شب¬پره هندي به¬صورت غير خطي بود. به اين ترتيب كه تعداد تخم¬هاي گذاشته شده به ازاي يك ماده¬ي زنبور متناسب با افزايش تراكم لاروهاي دو گونه ميزبان از 1 تا 8 لارو افزايش و در تراكم¬هاي 16 تا 32 لارو كاهش يافت. تعداد حشرات كامل ظاهر شده به ازاي يك ماده¬ي زنبور H. hebetor نيز متناسب با افزايش تراكم¬هاي لارو بيد آرد و شب¬پره هندي از 1 تا 16 لارو افزايش و در تراكم 32 لارو هر دو ميزبان كاهش نشان داد. درصد ماده¬هاي ظاهر شده و درصد زنده ماني به ازاي يك ماده¬ي زنبور متناسب با افزايش تراكم لاروهاي بيد آرد و شب¬پره هندي از 1 تا 32 لارو افزايش يافت. | ||||||
