Abstract

In this thesis Iranshahri’s thoughts in Kalileh and Demneh such as kingship ideal, divine chrisma, togetherness of religion and kingdom, justice, indulgence, truth, inclination in destiny and etc. have been investigated. In Kalileh and Demneh, kingdom is a divine gift and eternal favour in which king is in the centrality of the state affairs. Therefor affection and kindness must be imprinted on his forehead, otherwise he would be a devilish creature who disturb governing orders of the universe. He must metaphysically be supported in the circus of governmental affairs, and this is possible only by divine charisma which indicate the linking between gods and men’s universe. Such a king must be decorated with the justice ornament, so that every body function themselves in their own special class and approach readily to the happiness and prosperity. The king must also decorated with accomplishments such as battle assistant and with virtues such as religion assistant which are proper to his rank. He settles wars with the strength of his forbearance and with his moderateness; because impatience is the plague of kingship and can break the social connection. This connection is strengthened by “truth”. Basically without truth life is not in harmony; because falsehood is send the life out of its regular direction. But finally with the dominance of divine forces to the devilish one, Utopia – symbol of an ideal reality and a secure place for releasing from disorderness and injustice – is prover to be true. Ofcourse destiny like a warp is always woven to the woof of the man’s life, and there is no place to scape from this unchangeable destiny. The king know that without policy dreadful atmosphere of government will no longer continued. Without civil and military organizations order and arrangement of society will destroyed and would gradually faced with overthrown. Therefor we conclude that Kalileh and Demneh has a contribution in the continuance of Iranshahri’s thoughts and also in the historical and cultural continuance of Iran in passage to the Islamic period.
