Abstract

Thought Action–Fusion (TAF), is a cognitive bias and distortion that, refers to, thoughts and actions are inextricably linked. This construct is presense to development and maintanence of meny psychological disorders. The present study pursue to predict Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder(OCD),and Major Dpression by TAF and its levels.Comparison of the TAF among three groups is one of the importance gools. Thus three groups included 50 persons were selected by available sampling method in private and governmental psychiatric centers in Ardabil city, and then, they responded to Beck Depression Inventory, Padua Inventory and TAF scale. The results of multiple regression by stepwise metod, revealed that,TAF or its levels could predict 14 percents of Major Depression variance(p<0/01),15 percents of OCD variance(p<0/01),and 8-21percents of OCD kinds variance(p,0/05).Moreover,the results of multivariate analysis of variance revealed that, there is significant differencese between OCD and Major Depression groups with normal group in moral TAF(p<0/01),and likelihood TAF(p,0/01),but, there is no significant differences between OCD group and Major Depression group in moral TAF and likelihood TAF. The results indicated that, the construct of TAF is not specific for OCD,and it is present in Mojor Depression disorder too, and moral TAF had high levels in OCD and Major Depression Disorder. Moreover, the results indicated that, moral and likelihood TAF had equal levels in OCD and Major Depression Disorder, thus they could not differentiate OCD from Major Depression Disorder.
