Abstract

In order to investigate and compare the cultivars and promising lines of Sesame in Moghan region using a correlation and cluster analysis, an experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with four replications in Moghan region in 2017. In order to carry out the test, the selected lines (14 lines) were considered as the control as well as the highest available cultivar (Oltan). Based on correlation analysis, it was observed that trait traits of 10 capsules had a positive and significant correlation with length, stem number and grain yield, and 1000 seed weight per grain yield had a positive and significant correlation with grain yield. The cultivars and lines were classified into 4 groups by clustering. In the first group, cultivars and lines numbered 14, 11, 8, 12, 9 and 6 with an average yield of 1608 grams were used. The Oltan cultivar is in this group with a relatively good yield. The second group of cultivars and lines No. 4, 7, 2, 13, 15, 1 and 5 with average yield (1252 grams), the third group with the highest number of lines (No. 3 (Sis * M-19 * Haj) with the highest yield (1817 grams), In the fourth group, line number 10 was found to have the lowest yield (989 g) among the lines and cultivars under study.
