Abstract
Plants are a valuable source of a wide range of secondary metabolites, which are used as pharmaceuticals, flavors, fragrances, colors, bio pesticides and food additives. Today, medicinal plants have an important role in diet of people. With increased resistance resulting from overusing of chemical synthetic antibiotics, finding alternative medicines that have antibacterial properties and have the least side effects on human health appears to be necessary. Caper (Capparis spinosa) is an important medicinal plant from the family Capparaceae. Caper, ashrub plant with a large natural distribution, is used in traditional medicines to cure various illnesses.There are many biologically active chemical groups including, alkaloids, glycosides, spermidine, rutin, quercetin, kaempferol, stigmasterol, campesterol, tocopherols, flavonoids, triterpenoids and a wide range of minerals and trace elements in caper plant. It exerted many pharmacological effects including antimicrobial, anti parasitic , anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effect and many others. The presented review summarizes information concerning the phytochemistry, therapeutic properties and biological activities of caper plant.

| Persian Abstract: | گیاهان یک منبع با ارزش و طیف گسترده ای از متابولیت های ثانویه هستند، که به عنوان دارو، طعم دهنده، رایحه، رنگ ها، سموم دفع آفات بیولوژیکی و مواد افزودنی غذایی مورد استفاده قرار می گیرند. امروزه گیاهان دارویی نقش مهمی در رژیم غذایی افراد دارند. با افزایش مقاومت دارویی ناشی از مصرف بیش از حد آنتی بیوتیک ها و داروهای شیمیایی یافتن داروهای جایگزین با خواص ضد میکروبی و دارای کمترین عوارض جانبی بر سلامت انسان ضروری به نظر می رسد. کبر یک گیاه دارویی مهم از خانواده کاپاریداسه است. کبر گیاه بوته ای با پراکنش طبیعی بالا بوده که در طب سنتی برای درمان بیماریهای مختلف مورد استفاده قرا می گیرد. ترکیبات زیست فعال زیادی شامل آلکالوئیدها، گلیکوزیدها، اسپریمدین، روتین، کامفرول، استیگما استرول، کامپیسترول، توکوفرول، فلاونوئیدها، ترپنوئید ها و طیف وسیعی از موادمعدنی و عناصر ریز مغذی در گیاه کبر وجود دارد. اثرات دارویی شامل خواص ضد میکروبی، ضدانگلی، ضددیابت، ضد التهاب، آنتی اکسیدانی و اثرات زیاد دیگری نیز از آن استخراج شده است. این مطالعه مروری بر خلاصه ای از مطالب مربوط به ترکیبات گیاهی، ویژگی های درمانی و ترکیبات زیست فعال گیاه کبر می باشد. |
