Abstract

Accepting Organic Farming requires attention to various aspects, including understanding farmers of the social and economic factors that are effective in implementing the principles of healthy production at farm level. The present paper aims th analyze the status of economic and social components of organic agriculture from farmers' point of view in Tamoogeh village, saqez county. The Statistical population of this research includes 534 people from tamoogeh village. The population of this study was 118 people using Cochran formula and simple random sampling method.The main instrument of the study was a questionnaire whose validity was obtained by the professors of the Department of Agriculture of Payame Noor University and experts of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Company in Saqez. The reliability of the research tool was 0.84 based on Cronbach's alpha.The results of one sample T-test showed that from viewpoint of villagers, the economic and social components for organic farming were significantly inadequate. The majority of farmers (79.66%) had a negative and relatively negative attitude in terms of economic performance, which, in comparison with the social component (54.2%), represented a more inappropriate situation.
