Abstract

Arabic contemporary literature has had a lot of variations. continuous defeat of Arabs from usurper Israel, vagrancy of Arabs, luxury and inaptitude of governors and ineffectiveness of their policies, and the most important of them , defeat in 1967 have caused the poets to put dominant political conditions on Arabic world as the topic of their poems directly or indirectly . Nazar Gabani is one of the poets that tended toward political poems. we was the poet of woman and wine before 1967 war, but his life and attitudes have changed by composing political poems. his political poems were critics to difficulties of the society such as cruelty and falsifications of the governors, autarchy and suffocation , lack of identity and backward of Arabic society, critics to colonialism and attacks of European culture to Arabic countries, and the cases like these. His purpose has been trying to be freedom and scape from cruelty and autarchy by composing these kinds of poems which indicate the responsibility and answerable of the poet to the hometown and nation of his country. He has expressed these contents in a metaphoric and symbolic from and in a simple and understandable and common language. He criticizes the governors of the society and people of his country in an acute and biting tone of language by addressing them and tries to have a role in improving the condition and statue of the society by his poems, Also , he has reminded the destroying of Arabic society and dominance of the foreigners by pointing out western culture and its destructive effects. In fact the content of his poems is the reflection of unorganized conditions of the society. In this research, I want to recognize the poetic life of the poet and study his political-critical poems by descriptive-analytical approach.
