Abstract

The main objective of this present study is to investigate the factors affecting the sense of security of the villages in the western border of the country, in particular villages in the Baneh County. The method utilized in this research is descriptive-analytical. The studied samples were consist of 299 households from the citizens of Baneh County in 1995-96 who were selected by simple random. In this research, a researcher-made questionnaire was used to assess the six components of rural sense of security (media performance, economic security, political security, religious security, life and honor security and military security). Data collection in this research was done by library method and for analyzing the study area, the statistics, resources, documents, surveying and observation methods were used. Ultimately, according to the findings from various sources, investigation, inference and proper explanation have been made. The findings of this study demonstrate that some indicators have a moderate status in terms of security effectiveness, and the average of total effective indicators in the sense of security is in a moderate situation. But, generally, due to the weakness of economic and cultural indicators as well as some present historical cases in the statistical community, despite the announcement of average security of the study areas, there is a kind of dissatisfaction among the study community in terms of security and sense of security existence.
