Abstract

“Jamdat Nasr” period is the beginning of the early rule in Mesopotamia. This culture has taken its name from an area of the same name. It is one of the special cultural features of this period, painted ceramic paints and special forms of clay. This culture has spread in a large part of southern, central and northern Mesopotamia, as well as in the southwest and west. Among the areas where “Jamdat Nasr” type pottery is found in the southwest of Iran is Mehran and Dehloran Plains. Mehran and Dehloran plains have played a very important role due to their geographical location, among the two centers of urban development, as an intermediate region in Iran-Mesopotamian commercial relations. So far, there are some studies that have been conducted between these areas of trade, in the meantime, Mesopotamia and, on the other hand, Khuzestan and the foothills of the Zagros, it is a matter for us to do this through Mehran and Dehloran. The vague issue was that the type of “Jamdat Nasr” plain of Mehran and Dehloran was produced locally, or produced by Mesopotamian specialists, and was an imported product. To this end, was applied in this research, The method of petrography (thin sections study) using polarizing binocular microscope, in order to know the minerals and additives to pottery pulp, Particle size and their distribution in the Petrographic laboratory of the Research and Production Research Center of Tehran Cultural Heritage Research Center, And X-ray Fluorescence Analysis (XRF) for identifying the chemical composition of clay samples in the Science and Technology Research Prospecting Laboratory with the X-ray Spectroscopy XEPOS USA. Finally, according to laboratory studies, it can be argued that all pottery studies are of local origin and have a slight difference, only in terms of origin, time, and place of construction. Because of this, the amount of minerals in pottery is different.
